Snugit is a save-anything app for iPhone. This policy explains what happens to your information when you use the app and this website. It's written in plain language on purpose, for an app built and run by one person. When something changes, this page changes first, and the "last updated" date above moves with it.
The short version
- What you save stays on your iPhone. Your links, notes, photos and files are never uploaded anywhere.
- No account. There's no sign-up, email, password or profile.
- Subscriptions go through Apple and RevenueCat. To know whether you have Snugit Pro, the app uses RevenueCat, which receives an anonymous ID and your purchase status, not your name or what you've saved.
- This website counts visits without cookies, using Cloudflare Web Analytics.
- No ads, no ad tracking, no data sales. Ever.
What you save
Everything you save in Snugit is stored with iOS's standard app storage, sandboxed to the Snugit app the same way any iOS app's data is isolated from other apps. It isn't uploaded, synced to a Snugit server, read, scanned or analysed. Nobody, including the developer, can see what you've saved. There's no admin dashboard and no database that your content ever touches.
Subscriptions (RevenueCat)
Snugit Pro is an optional subscription sold through the App Store. Apple handles the payment itself. Snugit never sees your card details, name or Apple ID email. To check whether you have Pro, and to restore purchases, the app uses RevenueCat, a subscription service.
When the app starts, and when you buy or restore, RevenueCat receives:
- A random, anonymous app user ID created by the app (not linked to your name or email)
- Your purchase and subscription status, including App Store transaction and receipt data
- Basic technical details: device model, iOS version, app version, App Store country and IP address
This is used only to unlock Pro features you've paid for and to keep subscriptions working correctly. It is never combined with what you save in the app, because that never leaves your phone. RevenueCat's own handling is described in its privacy policy.
This website
- Hosting. snugit.app is hosted by Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes standard request data (such as IP address and browser type) to deliver pages and protect the site from abuse.
- Visit counts. The site uses Cloudflare Web Analytics, which counts page views, referring sites, and broad browser and country information. It does not use cookies, doesn't fingerprint you, and doesn't follow you to other websites.
- Download links. App Store links on this site include a campaign tag (for example, which button you tapped). Apple reports these back to us only as totals, such as "12 downloads from the homepage button", never anything about you.
- The retired waitlist. Before launch, this site had a waitlist form. Those emails were stored on Cloudflare, never shared or used for marketing, and the list was deleted once Snugit launched. The form and its storage no longer exist.
What we don't collect
To be explicit about it, Snugit does not:
- Upload or read the content you save
- Include advertising SDKs, advertising identifiers or ads
- Include third-party analytics or crash-reporting SDKs in the app
- Track your location or access your contacts
- Require a login, email or phone number
- Sell or share personal data with data brokers or ad networks
If any of this changes, for example optional crash reporting to fix bugs faster, this policy will be updated first and the change described plainly here.
Device permissions
To do its job, Snugit asks iOS for permission to access:
- Photos: only when you choose to save or attach a photo. Snugit never browses your library in the background.
- Files: only when you pick a file through the document picker.
- Face ID or Touch ID: only to unlock items you've locked. Biometric data stays with iOS. Snugit only learns whether the unlock succeeded.
- The share sheet: to receive what you deliberately send to Snugit from another app.
Everything accessed this way is copied into Snugit's local storage on your device, so the app can show it back to you. It isn't transmitted anywhere.
Third-party services
- Apple: App Store distribution, payments, and the iOS features described above, under Apple's privacy policy.
- RevenueCat: subscription status, as described above, under RevenueCat's privacy policy.
- Cloudflare: website hosting and cookieless visit counts, under Cloudflare's privacy policy.
Snugit doesn't work with data brokers, ad networks or advertising analytics companies.
Your rights & choices
You can ask what data relates to you, and ask for it to be corrected or deleted, free of charge, by emailing the address below. Because your RevenueCat ID is anonymous, we can only find a matching subscription record if you include details from your App Store receipt (such as the order ID). We'll then delete that record or confirm what it contains. If you're in the EU/EEA, the UK or California, this covers your rights under GDPR, UK GDPR and CCPA: access, correction, deletion and objection.
Deleting your data
- Content saved in the app: deleting an item removes it immediately. Deleting the app removes everything, since it was never stored anywhere else.
- Subscription records: kept by RevenueCat for as long as needed to manage your subscription and meet accounting obligations, or deleted sooner on request (see above). Cancel a subscription any time in your iPhone's Settings, under your name, then Subscriptions.
- Website visit counts: aggregated by Cloudflare and not tied to you.
Children's privacy
Snugit doesn't knowingly collect personal information from children, and using the app requires no personal information at all: no account, no sign-up and no profile. If you have a concern, contact us and it will be handled right away.
International users
Snugit is built by an independent developer. Apple, RevenueCat and Cloudflare may process the limited data described above in the United States and other countries, under their own safeguards. Content you save inside the app never leaves your device, wherever you are.
Changes to this policy
As Snugit adds features, such as sync across devices, which is on the roadmap, this policy will be updated before that feature ships, in the same plain language. Meaningful changes move the "last updated" date above.
