How to Save an X (Twitter) Post on iPhone

Quick answer: Tap the bookmark icon under the post. Bookmarks are private, and you'll find them in the menu under your profile picture. If the post might be deleted, take a screenshot too, and save the link with a note if you'll need it again.

A thread with exactly the advice you needed. A post you want to quote later. A list of tools someone recommended. On X, these scroll away in seconds, so it's worth knowing which way of saving them holds up.

Bookmark it inside X

Tap the bookmark icon under the post (on some layouts it's inside the Share menu). Bookmarks are private, so the author isn't notified. To find them, open the side menu from your profile picture and tap Bookmarks.

Bookmarks are fine for a few posts a week. They get hard to use once you have hundreds: they're one long list, and organizing them into folders is a paid feature.

Copy the link

Tap the Share icon and choose Copy link, or share it straight to another app. A link is light and works anywhere. The catch: if the author deletes the post or locks their account, the link stops working and the content is gone.

Screenshot it (for posts that might disappear)

A screenshot keeps the words even if the post is deleted, which makes it the right choice for anything you might need as proof later. The downside is the usual one: screenshots pile up in your camera roll with no way to search them by topic. If you go this route, keep them organized from day one, and use Live Text to copy out the important part.

Save the link with the context

What usually goes missing isn't the post, it's why you saved it. A month later, "x.com/someone/status/1839…" means nothing. Share the post to Snugit and you keep the link plus its text, so searching a word you remember from the post brings it back. Add a few words of your own if the reason isn't obvious.

Which one to use

Download Snugit and save posts from X in one tap from the share sheet, searchable by what they said.
